About the RoleWe are seeking a Mid to Senior QA Analyst with hands-on console certification experience to help establish and maintain high-quality standards across our projects. This role is an individual contributor position that combines active testing with process ownership and mentorship.

You will work closely with engineering, design, production, and junior QA team members to structure regression planning, improve bug reporting clarity, and prepare titles for console submission. In a lean studio environment, you will help formalize practical QA workflows while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day testing and validation.

Job Type: Full-TimeLocation: Hybrid – Loveland, Colorado (preferred 4 days/week onsite). 

Responsibilities

  • Execute hands-on testing across PC and console builds, including feature validation, regression, and release readiness testing.

  • Lead preparation for console certification submissions, including familiarity with TRC/XR requirements and platform-specific compliance testing.

  • Develop and maintain structured test plans, regression suites, and release checklists.

  • Establish clear bug severity and prioritization standards, ensuring high-quality reporting and actionable reproduction steps.

  • Run or support bug triage sessions in collaboration with engineering and production.

  • Identify systemic quality risks early and proactively communicate them to development leadership.

  • Provide visibility into the quality situation for each project with data-driven reports.

  • Mentor junior QA testers and help standardize QA workflows across the studio.

  • Collaborate with build and engineering teams to validate patches, updates, and hotfixes.

  • Proactively improve QA processes in collaboration with studio leadership to balance rigor with efficiency in a small-team environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional QA experience in game development.

  • Experience supporting at least one console certification submission (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or similar)

  • Strong understanding of console TRC/XR requirements and compliance testing practices.

  • Demonstrated experience building structured regression plans and test documentation.

  • Proven ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports in a shared tracking system.

  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering and production teams in an agile or iterative environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active testing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to negotiate well with stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience shipping Unreal Engine titles.

  • Familiarity with Ark or survival/sandbox-oriented gameplay.

  • Experience supporting live service updates and patch submissions.

  • Familiarity with console platform tools and submission portals.

  • Experience mentoring or leading small QA groups without formal management authority.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $95,000 Annually, depending on console/cert experience
