Associate Art Director

Remote - Beverley Hills, CA

Location: Limited Remote - This position is remote with the expectation that the successful candidate will be required to attend meetings at our Beverley Hills office. Candidates must live in Southern California.

We are seeking a talented Associate Art Director to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in defining and refining the artistic style of our new project, ensuring it resonates with both Eastern cultural themes and Western sensibilities. You will collaborate closely with technical artists to produce a wide range of art assets, establish production processes, validate the feasibility of production implementation, and review art assets to maintain quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Define and design the artistic style of our project, blending Eastern cultural themes with Western aesthetics to create visually stunning and culturally resonant experiences.

  • Collaborate with technical artists to produce various art assets, providing guidance and direction to ensure they align with the established artistic style.

  • Develop and document production processes to streamline workflows and ensure efficiency in art asset creation.

  • Confirm the feasibility of production implementation for art assets, considering technical constraints and project requirements.

  • Review art assets to maintain quality, consistency, and adherence to the established artistic style guidelines.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, artistic techniques, and cultural influences to continuously evolve and refine the artistic style of our projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent art portfolio 

  • 8+ years' experience crafting video game art 

  • You have proven yourself in a leadership capacity as a Lead Artist, Supervisor, or Associate Art Director on at least one shipped AAA game 

  • Takes initiative to solve problems with excellent follow-through 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience working with technical artists and knowledge of production pipelines in the entertainment industry is a plus.

  • Passion for storytelling, cultural exploration, and creating immersive experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $90,000 - 125,000. Exact base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
