Location: Remote - this position is fully remote but limited to applicants residing in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.

Job Summary

As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with the associate art director and product owners to implement, create, and modify various technical and art elements in the games. Your expertise will cover tasks like lighting, post-processing, shaders, materials, visual and sound effects, animations, character and object rigging, and player movement controllers.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Enhance the game's visual appeal by implementing effective lighting techniques.

  • Apply post-processing effects to achieve specific visual styles and atmosphere.

  • Create and apply shaders to enhance the appearance of in-game objects and characters.

  • Develop and apply materials for various in-game assets.

  • Integrate and create visual effects that enrich the gameplay experience.

  • Incorporate sound effects to complement the game's visuals and interactions.

  • Integrate animations for characters and objects to bring them to life.

  • Set up character and object rigging for smooth and realistic movements.

  • Create player movement controllers to ensure responsive and immersive gameplay.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a technical artist in the gaming industry, AAA experience preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in a range of software tools, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Substance Painter 3D, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk 3ds Max, Blender, Pixologic Zbrush, Perforce Visual Client, and Tortoise SVN.

  • Knowledge of computer programming languages like C++, Lua, and HLSL to implement technical features and optimize performance.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 per year. Exact base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
