Interactive Films Casting Director

Beverly Hills, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Location:

Beverly Hills, CA

Company Overview:

Snail, Inc. is the leading independent global developer and publisher of digital entertainment. Interactive Films is a dynamic and innovative production studio under Snail Inc. dedicated to creating compelling and engaging short-form narrative content such as vertical web series, FMV, etc. We are committed to delivering high-quality entertainment to audiences worldwide.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled creative casting visionary, committed to finding the right actors to play the right roles in our slate of multiple webisode productions. We know that the success of any production often falls on who brings these characters, their unique stories, and their individualized dialogue to life. If you’re passionate about creating magical pairings and fighting for the very best - we’d love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the entertainment industry, an extensive network of existing connections (including actors, agencies, casting professionals, etc.), as well as a proven track record of casting for high-profile television and film. Deep knowledge and passion for Chinese vertical dramas and web series is a plus.

This position will report directly to Interactive Films’ Content Director and will be an onsite full-time role at our Beverly Hills office.

Responsibilities:

  • Find exceptional talent that can deliver strongly emotive performances in vertical format: hold auditions/callbacks/chemistry reads, preview submissions, seek out invaluable actors, and solicit self-tapes, headshots, and resumes to place the best performers into role.

  • Build and nurture relationships with top agencies, agents, and actors in order to craft effective rosters of future talent.

  • Regularly align with the Content Director and Interactive Films executives in order to understand fundamental backstories and creative visions for each role.

  • Provide notes, feedback, and guidance to contending actors in order to refine performance and allow improvement for current and future projects.

  • Negotiate and manage all contract processes, working as intermediary between Interactive Films and actors, agents, and talent representatives.

  • Implement organizational systems to track past, current, and future casting processes and sessions, as well as launch in-house directories to track all used actors so Interactive Films can more readily document experiences, personalize relationships, and readily partner with them again.

  • Special projects, as assigned by the Content Director, to support the success of and create momentum for studio productions.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) within casting for film and television.

  • Strong network of industry contacts, including talent agencies, agents, and actors.

  • Exceptional communicator, with the ability to positively represent Interactive Films externally to global audiences.

  • Deep knowledge of the entertainment industry across all formats including, film, television, social media, and webisodes.

  • Proven expertise in drafting and finalizing contractual talent agreements.

  • Demonstrated passion for identifying talent and experience-backed intuition that has led to a track record of excellent casting choices and top-performing end result programming.

  • A thorough understanding and appreciation for Chinese dramas, web series, and content landscape is a plus.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $72,000 - $80,000 per year. Exact base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
