Level Designer UE4/UE5

Location: On-Site: Loveland Colorado OR Remote in the following states:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Level Designer with leadership qualities to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Unreal Engine 4 and 5, and a passion for creating engaging and immersive maps. You will work closely with designers, programmers, and artists to bring our game concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement engaging environments in UE4/UE5 with a focus on exploration, resource gathering, and survival gameplay.
Debug and optimize map for smooth performance in open-world settings
Work closely with design, art, and programming teams to bring creative ideas to life.
Write and maintain technical documentation for map systems, tools, and workflows.
Assist in the integration of visual effects, animations, and other dynamic elements to enhance gameplay.
Assist the planning and direction of the map team as a whole
Mentor more junior designers and help level up their work.
Qualifications:
5 years professional experience as a Level Designer or similar role in the video game industry.
Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 4 and 5, including Blueprint visual scripting and various map tools and pipelines.
Strong understanding of game design principles and mechanics.
Proficiency in debugging, profiling, and optimizing game systems for performance.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners
Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
Passion for video games, particularly open world survival games and a deep understanding of what makes games fun and engaging.
Preferred Qualifications:
Be available to work onsite in downtown Loveland, Co.
Experience leading teams and mentoring other designers
Experience with tool development and workflow optimization.
Experience with multiplayer game development in Unreal
Knowledge of map tools in UE4 and UE5.
Hundreds of hours played in the ARK or ATLAS IP
Experience with the ARK or ATLAS DevKit

Salary Range: $70,000 - $110,000 per year. Exact base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
