Position Title: Vertical Short Drama Director (Contract)

Job Description:

Interactive Films is seeking a talented and collaborative Director to join our creative team for an upcoming film project. This project is a vertical short drama with gameplay integration. This role is ideal for a filmmaker who has previously directed a vertical and is passionate about fast-paced, story-driven vertical short-form content. Experience working in games is a plus as well.

In addition to your resume, please submit your directing reel. You must have at least one relevant directing credit. Experience in directing romance stories and period pieces is preferred. 

Responsibilities

Pre-Production 

• Collaborate closely with producers to align creative direction with audience goals

Production

• Plan and direct vertical short-form series from prep through wrap, filming internationally.

• Ensure creative vision is executed effectively within time and budget constraints

• International travel is a requirement for this position. 

Post-Production

• Work with the editor through post, reviewing cuts and provide clear and actionable editing notes

• Collaborate with post team, producers, game developers, and studio executives to create product aligned with the vertical pacing standards and company vision.

Qualifications

• Prior vertical short drama directing experience (required)

• Ability to lead a film crew on-set, internationally (required)

• International production experience (required) 

• Graduate of an accredited film school

• Strong visual storytelling skills 

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment

• Game development experience is a plus 

• Understanding of Unreal Engine is a plus 

• Experience in virtual production is a plus 

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus

$5,000 - $10,000 depending on experience (Contract Role)
